The Story Behind the Artwork

I didn’t set out to create Las Vegas.

Most of my work has been rooted in Sedona—the energy, the skies, and those moments when light and color can completely change how a place feels. But when Richard Holtsberg, owner of Desert Valley Gallery in Las Vegas, invited me to create something for the gallery, I began thinking about how different places carry their own kind of energy…and why people are drawn to them.

Sedona is a destination for reflection.

Las Vegas is a destination for experience.

Somewhere in that contrast, Vegas: A Luminous Awakening began to take shape.

I created the artwork digitally, bringing together the visual language of my traditional paintings with the freedom of a digital canvas. The sky originated in my original painting Always on Vacay, inspired by years of traveling to places where people go to step away from everyday life and reconnect with something lighter and freer.

I carried those colors into Las Vegas, allowing the skyline, the lights, and the atmosphere to become something more imaginative than literal.

The Sphere became a natural focal point—not simply for what it is, but for what it represents: something immersive, modern, and almost otherworldly.

This isn’t intended to be a photographic representation of Las Vegas. It’s my interpretation of how Las Vegas feels—created through light, color, energy, and imagination.

Las Vegas skyline art was intentionally created to live as a Limited Edition experience.

Each hand-embellished piece combines the precision of the digital artwork with the texture, depth, and luminous energy of fluorescent acrylics applied by hand, giving every edition a unique finish in my studio.

If you didn’t know what you were looking at, you might think it was the original. Each piece carries the same presence, depth, and glowing energy, making every edition feel alive in its own way.

Offered in two signature sizes—30×60 and 32×48—each piece is created to fill a space with color, movement, and light, allowing the artwork to become part of the room itself.

Only 25 collectors will own this piece in its hand-embellished form.

Digital Creation & Fluorescent Transformation

Vegas: A Luminous Awakening begins as a digitally created artwork, built around vivid color, light, and atmosphere.

The Limited Edition Hand-Embellished Giclée takes that digital creation into another dimension. After the museum-quality giclée is produced, I personally embellish the surface with fluorescent acrylics, adding luminous highlights, texture, and individual touches by hand.

In normal light, the artwork is already alive with saturated color. Under black light, my fluorescent embellishments react dramatically, creating another visual experience.

It brings together two sides of my creative process: digital creation and traditional hands-on painting.
