Sedona’s Hypnotic Earthrise – A Brilliant Portal into Southwest Wonder
Sedona’s Hypnotic Earthrise is one of my most creative transformations, inspired by my original painting Sedona’s Mystical Moonrise. A friend suggested I digitally replace the moon with Earth, and that single change completely shifted the mood—from mystical to cosmic.
This piece isn’t available as a painted original. Instead, it’s offered only in print formats: canvas gallery wraps, luminous metal prints, and giclée art prints. In each version, Sedona’s red rocks stay grounded while Earth rises above them, reimagining the landscape as both intimate and infinite.
The foundation for this image is Mystical Moonrise, which I painted with fluorescent acrylics. In daylight, its colors glow with the warmth of the desert. Under black light, the original Moonrise transforms: pigments ignite, spires push forward, and the sky deepens into a sense of dimensional space. While Earthrise itself doesn’t have this UV glow, it inherits the layered brilliance and harmony of its painted sister.
